Who We Are

When our Bloodhound, Dixie, was diagnosed with numerous food and environmental allergies we struggled to locate dog food and treats that she could eat. Unable to find anything in stores or from quality veterinarians we started to feed Dixie just like we fed the family, we made her food at home with the highest quality ingredients we could find. One of her favorite treats was peanut butter & banana biscuits.

Upon the return of my son Noah from the Marines, with his wife Gabby and two German shepherds, he struggled finding a job. As they also wanted to feed their pets the very best high-quality treats, we took what we started as a family and decided to share our family’s treats with the world, one wag at a time.

We continue to make our peanut butter & banana biscuit today and it is our most popular treat.

To educate the public, government agencies, and elected officials on the costs and responsibilities of owning a retired K-9 Hero.

To provide a safe haven at their 177-acre Rehabilitation & Rehoming Facility for retired K-9 Heroes to live when they no longer have a home or an owner that can meet their specialized needs.

Our mission, as a Veteran owned company, is to support those who also served our country with four legs and a wag.

Meet the Schwarze Family

Lexie

From the moment I first laid eyes on a wagging tail, I knew dogs would hold a special place in my heart. Growing up, my home was always filled with the joyful barks and playful antics of our furry companions. Each dog, with its unique personality and boundless energy, taught me the true meaning of unconditional love and loyalty.

My passion for dogs goes beyond just having them as pets. I am deeply committed to their well-being and happiness. Whether it’s volunteering to walk or sit for dog owners, advocating for animal rights and healthy food, or simply spending quality time with my own pups, I find immense joy in every aspect of dog care. Their ability to bring comfort, joy, and companionship is unparalleled, and I strive to give back to them in every way possible.

Dogs have an incredible way of connecting with people, offering a sense of warmth and understanding that is truly special. They inspire me to be more compassionate, patient, and loving. My journey with Michigan Biscuit Company has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life and I am grateful for every wag, bark, and cuddle that comes from each pet enjoying our simple ingredient treats.

I live in Lake Orion, MI with my husband Fred of 36 years. I hold a bachelor’s degree in marketing and communication with a minor in Computer Science from Oakland University.

Noah

I was born and raised in Michigan and graduated from Lake Orion High School. Deciding that college was not wanted I wanted right after I graduated, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and completed a deployment to the Middle East with 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines regiments as part of SPMAGTF. After my 4 years of service, I decided to pursue my passion for dogs and co-founded the Michigan Biscuit Company. Today, I’m proud to be part of a team dedicated to providing high-quality, gourmet dog treats for our furry friends.

Gabrielle

I am proud to be part owner of Michigan Biscuit Company. As a true Michigander, I was born and raised in this beautiful state, graduating from Lake Orion High School and later attending Oakland University. My lifelong passion for pets has been a driving force behind our venture. Growing up, I shared my home with dogs, fish and even hermit crabs. Now, as a dog parent to two furry companions, I’ve experienced firsthand the frustration of limited pet treat options – especially for dogs with allergies. I firmly believe that our four-legged friends deserve better, without compromising quality or breaking the bank. With this unwavering commitment to animals, we launched Michigan Biscuit Company.
